Website Feedback – What is website feedback and why you should have it?

With the current trend for people to increase their use of the Internet for purchasing products and services and as a tool to resource information, it is important that Organisations ensure they optimise and continue to develop and improve their websites.

By encouraging their visitors to provide feedback on their websites, organisations can get a clear understanding of how their websites actually work, rather than how they perceive they work. Visitors can provide comments on the site content, site navigation, ease of use and provide the organisation with their own suggestions for ways in which the site can be improved.

Organisations can also obtain a profile of their visitors i.e. what age group they are, what gender, what occupation they have, what experience they have using the internet, also what browser the visitor used to view the website. These factors effect how the site is developed and tested.

Other Uses for Website Feedback include:

  • To identify any page errors on the website
  • To establish the frequency of the Visitors visits
  • To find out how easy the visitor found the website to use
  • To identify the purpose of their visit
  • To find out what information visitors were looking for.
  • To find out what products and services the visitor was looking for
  • To find out how visitors arrive at the website, i.e. from search engines, invites, or other websites
  • And to find out what competition an organisation has

In addition to providing feedback links in the main pages of the website, you can also use more specific feedback after a transaction has taken place or on registration with the website. The advantage of this is different feedback questionnaires can be linked to deal specifically with the issues arising from the Transaction or Registration process. The Feedback questionnaires can be kept smaller so will take less time to complete by your Visitor, which will encourage completion. You can also provide your visitors with incentives to complete the Feedback Survey, tell them of the loyalty schemes you are running, give them discounts on next orders, or inform them of future events to encourage them to return to your site.

Survey-data can be used easily and efficiently to obtain feedback from your website. Users can either use a single link or multiple links from their own website to direct their Visitors to your Website Feedback survey. The feedback data is available immediately and can be viewed or down loaded by you and your assigned personnel. You can brand the Feedback Surveys specifically to your own requirements so that it appears seamlessly to your visitors. All you have to do is create the surveys and incorporate the links to the surveys throughout your own website.
